The Bianchi Professional is an IWB holster designed under the K.I.S.S. principle- keep it stupid simple. This holster uses old yet proven designs to secure and conceal small frame firearms. The details and leather are of the quality John Bianchi would stand behind. The metal clip that fits up to a 1.75″ belt is rudimentary, straight from the 80’s. The holster lacks cant and rides rather low.

The Bianchi Professional did take several days to break in, however afterwards it fit like a glove. Holster makers understand that leather stretches. This is why holsters out of the box tend to fit snugly. It is best to have a tight holster stretch to a good fit as opposed to a good fit stretch to sloppy.

The author’s chief concern with this holster is that it is offered for large model firearms as well. This design should only be offered for small frame (the size of your hand) firearms. Any larger and the Professional’s design becomes dangerously bulky and unstable. This is a significant error in Bianchi’s marketing team. Had this holster been purposely designed and marketed strictly for small to micro firearms as an alternative to pocket carry, Bianchi would easily corner the market.

If being used as the design intends, the Bianchi 100 Professional earns an Editor’s Pick due to its ease of concealment, durability, and conceivability all at a phenomenal price. The caveat being If it is used for a larger firearm, this Bianchi holster gets one of the least favorable reviews.

The Professional 100 can be found on  Bianchi’s website starting at $57. If you shop around online, you can find it much cheaper.

  1. I have a Springfield XD9 9MM, can you tell me if this particular holster would be a good choice. If not, can anyone provide me with options.
    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Ron,

I believe you would be pushing the capabilities of this holster if it’s anything north of the 3″ subcompact XD with the flush magazine.

As you know, there are 3 XD versions — the 3″ (subcompact), 4″ (compact / service), and 5″ (tactical). Given there is also an extended magazine option which increases the top weight, the XD may be best concealed with a holster with greater belt contact width (aka 2 belt loops).

      Hope this helps!

  2. I’m looking for a Iwb holster for my spfd armory xds 3.3 I was told this holster would work but it’s not a option on the site for the gun I would like leather and metal clip what would you suggest thanks

  3. With your advice in mind, my curiosity nevertheless led me to order a size 11 for my fns 9 compact (3.6″ barrel). We’ll see how it works out.
